Over the past five decades, Ethiopian women have moved from marginalization to becoming key actors in shaping the nation\u2019s development and governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s celebration, observed globally for the 115th time and locally for the 50th by the theme, \u201cWomen\u2019s Voice for Equality and a Prosperous Ethiopia\u201d. &nbsp;Leaders and staff from various institutions gathered to highlight achievements and discuss future priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>State Minister of Government Communication Service Mr. Kebede Desisa, underscored the importance of honoring the movements that secured women\u2019s rights. He urged greater efforts to enhance women\u2019s participation in democratic elections and strengthen their economic capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, State Minister Mr. Tesfahun Gobezay reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to ensuring women\u2019s inclusion at all levels of administration. While acknowledging progress in political participation, he stressed that more effort is needed to achieve coequality with men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both State Ministers noted that women leaders are increasingly shaping policies, improving service delivery, and contributing to peace and security across Ethiopia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussion document prepared by the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs on the occasion of Women&#8217;s Day has presented and discussed by Mr. Endalew Mulualem, Coordinator of the Federal Institutions Monitoring and Support Desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants agreed that the day served not only as a celebration of women\u2019s strength but also as a reminder of the challenges ahead.
