Deputy Prime Minister Highlights North Shewa’s Crucial Role in Ethiopia’s Industrial Growth

Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Teruneh has emphasized the vital role of North Shewa Zone in Ethiopia’s economic transformation driven by industrial development.         

During an official visit to Debre Berhan, the Deputy Prime Minister toured key industrial sites, including the Agro Processing Park, Ceramic Factory, and Pulp and Paper Mills. He described these facilities as “Powerful symbols of progress,” showcasing the tangible results of Ethiopia’s reform efforts in the manufacturing sector.

Mr. Temesgen stressed that manufacturing is a strategic pillar for Ethiopia’s economic expansion. He praised North Shewa’s industries for their contributions, which enhance resource utilization and promote sectoral linkages. These factories not only add value but also establish interconnected supply chains, leading to increased employment opportunities and foreign exchange earnings through integrated production.

Concluding his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed that peace and hard work are essential for sustainable development. “North Shewa proves that with dedication, factories become engines of growth and citizens become agents of positive change.”
