The Government is working to effectively communicate Ethiopia’s prospect in the upcoming African Union Summit

In Preparation of the forthcoming of African Union Summit, the Ethiopian government is working to enhance its communication to uphold the country’s image to participants of the summit.

Mr. Tesfahun Gobezay, the State Minister of Government Communication Service, has recently provided training for foreign affairs diplomats and volunteers at African Leadership Academy focusing on the importance of comprehensive, consistent, strategic and proactive communication efforts to effectively promote Ethiopia’s achievements, prospects and opportunities.

According to the state minister, the 38th African Union Summit that will take place on February 8-9/2017 in Addis Ababa presents an opportunity for Ethiopia to showcase its progress and engages with fellow Africans.

The aim of the training is to equip Ethiopian participants with strategic communication that maximizes our national interests in a collective responsibility, he stated.

Mr. Tesfahun highlighted the necessity of accurately portraying Ethiopia’s progress and prospects. He called upon diplomats and volunteers to share truthful information that encounters misleading narratives, thereby ensuring Ethiopia maintains a clear and credible presence on regional, as well the international stage.

The state minister also underlined that a well prepared communication empowers Ethiopian representatives to effectively enhance the country’s interests.

The Government Communication Service is diligently working to influence the global community’s perception and uphold Ethiopia’s dignity across various levels of engagements.

At the training, the participants also demonstrated their readiness to communicate their country’s real circumstance in a diplomatic manner.
