Ethiopian Government Initiates Dialogue to Foster National Unity and Political Cooperation

In an effort to address historical divisions and cultivate a culture of collaboration, the Ethiopian government is proactively initiating dialogues designed to enhance political unity among all parties Legesse Tulu (Dr), Minister of Government Communication Services for the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, articulated the commitment today.
During a media briefing today on January 10, 2017 E.C Legese Tulu (Dr) acknowledged the vital role that former militants who have positively responded to peace initiatives can play in the nation’s journey towards stability and prosperity. The Minister assured that the government remains open to any groups willing to accept the peace option, encouraging their involvement in the process national reconciliation efforts.
The minister highlighted that Ethiopian government is dedicated to establishing an inclusive state that reconciles all parties, promotes solidarity, and embraces both diversity and national unity and ongoing efforts to build a robust, intergenerational state through the development of independent and competent institutions, noting that encouraging progress is already being achieved.
Legese Tulu (Dr) also outlined the collective efforts of the National Dialogue Commission, which has engaged various segments of society across the country to resolve differences through peaceful dialogue. Currently, favorable conditions are being established in the Amhara and Tigray regions to facilitate similar initiatives, said.
The minister reaffirms the government’s commitment to creating peace and stability while ensuring citizen security, urging all citizens to fulfill their responsibilities in this collective effort.
