Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed inaugurated the Council of Ministers’ macroeconomic review for Ethiopia’s first 100 days of the 2018 fiscal year by visiting the Koysha Hydroelectric Power Project. During the visit, he acknowledged notable progress since the last government inspection, noting that the dam has now reached a height of 128 meters and that civil works are 70% complete.

This achievement exemplifies Ethiopia’s strong commitment to energy security and infrastructure development. The Koysha project, a vital component of the country’s broader plan to harness renewable energy sources, is expected to significantly enhance power generation capacity and foster economic growth.

The visit marked an important milestone in the government’s ongoing efforts to evaluate and accelerate key national development initiatives.
