“Startups and digital skills development are among the key pillars for achieving the Digital Ethiopia 2030 Strategy. Clear priorities have been set to enhance digital skills. By 2030: 70% of the population is expected to have digital literacy; 80% of government employees will be digitally skilled; 10 million citizens will receive digital skills training. In addition, efforts will be made to enable 5,000 startups to become operational and to create 1 million jobs in the digital sector. On the other hand, it is projected that by 2030, the digital sector will contribute 12% of GDP.”
