During his visit to the Ethio Djibouti Railway Corporation, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed(PHD)emphasized Ethiopia’s commitment to strengthening logistics as a key driver of national development. The visit provided an opportunity to assess operational capabilities and reinforce efforts to enhance supply chain efficiency.
As Ethiopia’s economy rapidly expands, the Prime Minister underscored logistics as a critical challenge to sustaining growth and unlocking the country’s full potential. He highlighted significant progress in domestic railway construction, reflecting Ethiopia’s determination to build local capacity, improve efficiency, and ensure long-term sustainability by reducing reliance on external contractors.
The visit also spotlighted ongoing modernization efforts across the entire logistics chain from seaports to warehouses aimed at boosting connectivity and streamlining supply networks. These initiatives include upgrades to dry ports, railway infrastructure, highways, and storage facilities, demonstrating Ethiopia’s integrated approach to infrastructure development.
