Today in Mojo, we inaugurated the first phase of the modern logistics center expansion, a 60-hectare hub set to play a major role in making the #AfCFTA a success for Ethiopia and the continent. With terminals and warehouses capable of handling up to a million 20ft containers a year, the center allows dry bulk cargo to be packaged domestically, saving foreign currency and opening up broad employment opportunities for our citizens. Its efficiency is powered by the country’s first-ever Rail-Mounted Gantry crane, moving containers from the rail line at high speed.
Built on a fully digital infrastructure, the center guarantees fast, reliable service. Beyond the Ethio-Djibouti line, it forms part of the DESSU Corridor linking Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Uganda, a milestone that strengthens our place in the global logistics sector and opens a new chapter in regional economic integration.
