Green Legacy Ushers in a New Era for Ethiopia – Hon. Legese Tulu (PhD)

Hon. Legese Tulu (PhD), Minister of Government Communication Services, highlighted that Ethiopia’s Green Legacy initiative signifies a transformative chapter in the nation’s economic development. During a tree-planting event at the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) headquarters in Zenebewerk, the Minister praised the active involvement of the institution’s leadership and staff, who contributed over 1,500 saplings toward the national goal of planting 700 million trees in a single day. 

He emphasized that the Green Legacy is more than an environmental project; it is a crucial component of Ethiopia’s sustainable growth. The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to revitalizing the country, recognizing the initiative as a core national responsibility and strategic priority. 

Since its inception, the Government Communication Services has played a pivotal role in promoting and participating in the Green Legacy, actively engaging in planting activities and spreading the message to motivate others. 

Additionally, State Minister Kebede Desisa underscored the program’s positive impact on economic resilience and environmental restoration, assuring that institutional efforts to sustain and nurture the Green Legacy will intensify. 

Both leaders urged other institutions and citizens to join the movement, emphasizing that lasting progress depends on shared responsibility and ongoing collective efforts.
