Having achieved its Digital Ethiopia 2025 goals, the country is now embarking on a new strategic phase focused on expanding its National Identity Service, which already serves over 23 million citizens.

Digital inclusion is being driven forward by programs like ‘5 Million Coders’ and significant investments in digital marketing within the financial sector. Ethiopia’s robust renewable energy infrastructure has attracted international data mining companies, while mobile subscriptions have now surpassed 85.4 million, with internet users exceeding 28.6 million.

Efforts in cybersecurity are making notable progress, supported by the continent’s first Institute of Artificial Intelligence. Additionally, agricultural research centers are innovating to promote food sovereignty and resilience against climate change and conflicts.
