Longstanding Ethiopia–Germany Partnership

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) held talks with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, reaffirming Ethiopia’s longstanding diplomatic ties with Germany. 

The meeting underscored the historic partnership between the two nations, a relationship that has endured for decades and is rooted in mutual respect, shared values, and a commitment to sustainable development.

Germany has consistently stood as a reliable partner in Ethiopia’s modernization journey, offering support in education, economic reform, and the strengthening of democratic institutions. Ethiopia, in turn, has remained a steadfast ally in advancing cross-regional stability and constructive global engagement.

During the discussions, both sides explored new avenues of cooperation, with particular focus on trade, investment, renewable energy, and institutional capacity building. The talks highlighted the importance of reinforcing this historic relationship and advancing a shared vision of prosperity, peace, and inclusive growth. 

The visit marked another milestone in Ethiopia–Germany relations, reflecting their enduring commitment to collaboration and mutual progress.
