The Shapely Resort, a flagship project under the Dine for Generations initiative, has officially inaugurated this week in Ethiopia’s Somali Region.
Covering 385 hectares, the resort is designed as more than a leisure destination, it serves as a cultural landmark that embodies the region’s rich heritage while blending modern architecture with ancient traditions.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PHD)highlighted the project as a major milestone in Ethiopia’s ongoing efforts to position itself among Africa’s leading tourist destinations.
The Somali Region, known for its abundant natural landscapes, provides the perfect backdrop for this ambitious development.
The resort also reflects the spirit of Medemer, Ethiopia’s philosophy of unity and collaboration, with partnerships playing a central role in bringing the vision to life.
The Prime Minister emphasized that Shabeely Resort is a testament to Ethiopia’s ability to transform aspirations into tangible achievements, reinforcing the country’s growing reputation as a hub for tourism and cultural preservation.
