April 20, 2028

By positioning manufacturing as the “heart of sovereignty”, the government aims to secure independence from external pressures and reliance, ensuring that the nation can meet its needs through its own capabilities. This structural shift is turning challenges into opportunities, reinforcing Ethiopia’s sovereign strength.

The transformation has now advanced into technological ownership. This achievement highlights the government’s determination to elevate industrial production to new heights.

Industrial park development has also been redefined. Rather than focusing on quantity, Ethiopia now prioritizes strategic quality, attracting companies that deliver technological transfer and high economic value. This approach empowers the younger generation to master advanced technologies, positioning Ethiopia as a competitive partner in the global manufacturing chain.

Complementing the vision of, “Let Ethiopia Produce” which means ‘Made in Ethiopia’ movement reduces reliance on imports by utilizing domestic resources such as iron ore, marble and others productions. This policy of ‘making, not buying saves foreign exchange, strengthens local investors and enables Ethiopia to construct its own urban and infrastructure projects with homegrown raw materials. Government’s commitment has revived more than 800 previously closed factories, raising overall production capacity to 67 percent. By linking industrial growth with strategic reforms, Ethiopia has laid a solid foundation for long term prosperity. This vast opportunity demonstrates resilience, innovation, and confidence in facing the future.
