The Historic Achievement of Ethiopians Planting 800 Million Seedlings in a Single Day

The Minister of Government Communication Services, Mrs. Enatalem Melese, officially announced the launch of the historic national program to plant 800 million seedlings in a single day.
In press briefing today, the minister stated that Ethiopians are making history by turning out in mass to plant these seedlings.
The initiative, held under the theme “Lets Plant Hope,” aims to heal the degraded land and leave a green legacy for the next generation.
The Minister highlighted the inspiring cultural unity of the people, noting that under the concept of Medemer (synergy), the care Ethiopians give to the earth today will be returned by nature doubled.
This historic single-day campaign is part of a larger national plan to plant 8 Billion seedlings during the current rainy season. The nationwide planting drive is expected to continue until 6:00 PM with the active and vibrant participation of all segments of society across the country.
