A MAJOR STEP FORWARD FOR HEALTHCARE SERVICES IN ADDIS ABABA
The completion of Lafto Hospital marks an important milestone in Ethiopia’s healthcare sector. The hospital is expected to support the country’s broader goal of positioning Addis Ababa as a center for medical tourism while helping reduce the foreign currency spent on medical treatment abroad.
Facility Scale and Vision:-
Built on 5.4 hectares of land, the hospital consists of 17 modern buildings and 500 beds. The facility was developed to strengthen Ethiopia’s healthcare capacity, expand access to advanced medical services, and support the country’s ambition to become a destination for specialized healthcare in East Africa.
Advanced Medical Technology:-
The hospital includes an AI-assisted digital PET scan system, alongside a range of advanced medical technologies, including:
– A 3-Tesla MRI system
– A 640-slice CT scan
– A voice-controlled Cath Lab
– 3D Mammography equipment
– Robotics Laboratory (TLA) equipment
These technologies are expected to improve the diagnosis and treatment of complex medical conditions within the country.
